Marine Environment

Objectives

Contributing to the Conservation of Marine Biodiversity: To be a leader in developing and implementing innovative solutions that effectively contribute to the protection of endangered marine species and sensitive habitats such as coral reefs and mangroves, while supporting the sustainability of marine ecosystems in the Red Sea and the Arabian Gulf.
Enhancing Marine Water Quality: To achieve tangible improvements in coastal and marine water quality across the Kingdom by identifying sources of pollution, providing consulting on treatment solutions, and supporting the implementation of strict environmental standards aligned with global best practices.
Supporting Sustainable Coastal Development: To be the preferred partner for government and private entities in ensuring the integration of marine environmental considerations into major coastal development projects, striking a balance between economic growth and the preservation of marine resources for future generations.
Building National Capacity and Environmental Awareness: To contribute to raising environmental awareness about the importance and challenges of the marine environment, and to develop the capabilities of Saudi professionals in the field of marine environmental consulting through training, knowledge transfer, and advanced technologies.

Tasks

Conducting Comprehensive Marine Environmental Surveys and Studies: Carrying out advanced field surveys to assess water and sediment quality, identify marine biodiversity, and evaluate the environmental impact of proposed projects on the marine environment, using the latest technologies and specialized equipment.
Developing and Delivering Marine Pollution Management Plans: Designing integrated plans to reduce marine pollution and respond to oil or chemical spills, and providing consultations on best practices for pollution prevention and control, including monitoring systems and early warning mechanisms.
Providing Consultancy for Coastal and Marine Development Projects: Offering technical and advisory support to developers and new projects (such as ports, resorts, and desalination plants) to ensure compliance with local and international environmental regulations, and implementing solutions that mitigate their negative impacts on marine ecosystems.
Developing Long-Term Environmental Monitoring Programs: Designing and implementing continuous marine environmental monitoring programs using advanced technologies such as smart buoys and remote sensing devices, to collect and analyze data periodically, assess environmental changes, and deliver regular reports to relevant authorities.

Our Projects

Project: Supply and Deployment of Advanced Buoys for Water Quality Monitoring in Six Ports on the Red Sea and Arabian Gulf

Project: Supply and Deployment of Advanced Buoys for Water Quality Monitoring in Six Ports on the Red Sea and Arabian Gulf

As part of the “National Integrated Marine Pollution Monitoring Program,” advanced environmental monitoring buoys were successfully installed and commissioned in six ports along the Red Sea and the Arabian Gulf.

Project: Comprehensive Water Quality Survey of the Red Sea and Arabian Gulf Coastlines

Project: Comprehensive Water Quality Survey of the Red Sea and Arabian Gulf Coastlines

AECON and SAIL are collaborating on a comprehensive marine survey initiative along the coastlines of the Red Sea and the Arabian Gulf. This vital project aims to protect the marine environment, improve water quality, and preserve biodiversity by identifying sensitive and polluted areas for continuous monitoring.
